Weekly Retrospective — June Week 4, 2026

I spent a hectic month—three services, a review, a competition application, and more. I built one thing after another as if something were chasing me, but I think these were services stacked on top of a bit of anxiety and worry. Part of me wonders whether I should have planned more carefully and thought things through more before diving in, but I tend to overthink as it is, so I've decided to lean more into action from now on. I recently watched an interview with the founder of Vercel, and the idea that it only becomes real once you put it in front of customers really hit home. Sometimes a product you built thinking "this is convenient enough, surely people will pay for it" turns out to have no appeal at all, while people open their wallets for things that make you wonder why anyone would buy them…

On a day when crowds were packing into the Seoul International Book Fair, I headed to an export trade fair instead. There were more overseas companies than I'd expected, many of them coming through embassies or paired with Korean importers, so I figured it would be tricky to pick out firms for direct trade. Maybe because of the Book Fair, the trade fair itself was small in scale and the products weren't as varied as I'd hoped, which left me a little disappointed. The cereal in the photo was kind of curious—they were selling it with a sauce coated onto the cereal, which felt rather novel. I wondered if it was the kind of thing you'd spread on bread.
