When I found out that it was author Honggyun Yoon's book, I had no choice but to read it. I've previously read the author's other book, 'Self-Esteem Class,' and I thought what I liked best was that he was someone who didn't speak definitively about any issue. And after reading it, I have a good memory of feeling soft, as if my heart had become soft.
Perhaps because it is a book in the field of psychology, reading it helps me understand myself and others, and it gives me peace of mind.
The first thing that came to mind while reading the book Love Class was that I was worried that learning about love through books might be wrong. Although there is love between lovers, I think it would be better to look at it broadly as love in human relationships. It is a book that allows me to know and understand myself well.
I'm trying to organize my memories of this book with a few memorable phrases.
The person we talk to most often and the most is ourselves. So, what you say to yourself tends to pop out when you meet someone else without them even knowing it. This is why you should always check your relationship with yourself.
These words really touch me. If you look around you, people who take good care of themselves, always take care of themselves, and love themselves listen well to others with warm words and eyes. I have often felt that people who have a good understanding of themselves, not just externally, and who love themselves do not speak or act carelessly toward others. I think words that come from the heart come out prettier.
He was a person with sensitive hearing, so he particularly disliked noise. However, Kang Ho-dong once discreetly said on a broadcast that the reason his voice grew louder was because of his father, who was deaf. The moment the acquaintance heard the information that he had no choice but to shout loudly so that his father could hear him, he began to understand Kang Ho-dong's loud voice and his dislike for it subsided a little. This is the power of understanding.
If you don't understand someone's situation, if you don't make any effort, you can end up hating that person for the rest of your life because they don't meet your standards. I am not Kang Ho-dong, but I once saw a person who spoke unusually loudly at a previous job. I didn't know why he raised his voice so loudly, but I found out that he had developed a habit of speaking loudly due to his poor hearing, and after that, miraculously, I couldn't hear his loud voice anymore. When you don't understand others in a certain situation, conflict is bound to arise if you don't fully understand the situation.
You may have often shrugged your shoulders, saying, ‘Why am I like this?’ or ‘I’m not very talented,’ but thanks to you, there are more people than you think who have gained great strength, and thanks to you, have crossed the hill of sadness and risen from the bottom. Also, there are definitely people who grieve with you when you are having a hard time and sincerely wish you the best. They are quietly cheering for you.
You are as lovable as ever from the beginning until now, and people love you in their own way and are waiting for you to love them.
The author's last words were so touching. It wasn't that the expression of the writing was special, but I thought it was written from the author's sincerity. And as I read it, I thought of the people around me and my family. When things are difficult, I am very fortunate to have people who are there for me and understand my feelings more than anyone else. If you continue to receive feelings, there are times when you forget the importance of the feelings you took for granted in your daily life. I thought that I too should be someone's luck. It's a moment where my heart feels as if it was the first time I chose this book.
