Weekly Retrospective — July Week 1, 2026

WeeklyRetrospectiveJulyWeek2026retrospect

It's been a while since I wrote my retrospective — I usually write one every week. One thing I've realized while doing development is that there are a lot of people who make rude requests. I've never claimed to be doing anything great, nor have I ever felt that way, but people approach me asking me to build things for them, and when I decline, they walk away saying "AI does everything these days anyway." It's like lovebugs that fly into you while you're just minding your own business... utterly bewildering. Why do people take kindness for granted?

Anyway, things seem to have gotten a bit better since I stopped calling myself a developer and declared myself a builder.

It's pouring rain today, and for the first time in a while, my heart feels refreshed too. I'd been feeling stifled, and it's like that weight is finally lifting. Can I really do this? Am I capable? Those anxious questions kept nagging at me. I kept wondering what customers would actually need, what kind of information I could provide. Maybe because I constantly felt like what I was doing wasn't enough, it also felt like I couldn't move forward.

The service is now live, and it's time to start working on promotion.
